2018 DevaCurl Academy
Level 3 Certified
In 2018 I had the amazing opportunity to attend the DevaCurl Academy in SoHo, New York to learn all about the world of curls. Coming from somebody who doesn't have curls herself, this just gave me more fuel to work harder to achieve this goal. I always thought curly hair was beautiful and I never wanted to feel like I didn't know what to do when a curly client sat in my chair.

So in June of 2018, I attended Level 1. This consisted of lots of book and mannican work, and really just getting the basics down. In September, I had a summer's worth of practice and felt ready for level 2. This consisted of a live model call, and we worked on people, curls of all kinds! I met amazing people and it was an amazing experience. October came and it was time for Level 3, which was the official testing. The day consisted of a written test, and lots of specific hands on individual testing. After about 2 long awaited weeks, I received the email that I had passed! Along with the email was a detailed "report card" of what I excelled at and also what I could work on. I am grateful for this experience and blessed to have had the opportunity, which turned to be the best education investment I've made in my entire career.
Now, almost 6 years later, my passion for curls has grown immensely! I've helped many people grow in knowing their natural texture, and seen the improvement each visit. It fills me with joy whenever I see someone's curls improving and them finding their groove and a good routine!

Curly cuts are done dry and in your natural curl state. Because of this, these cuts last much longer as it is personalized to you and you only! Many of my clients come 2-3 times a year to maintain the health of their curls and also keep the shape.
